Still I Rise

Cousin hit and killed by a bus, but I rise.
Parents get a divorce, but still I rise.

Lose our house to the government, but still I rise.
Moved from Cincinnati to Chicago, but still I rise.

My family gets into a fight with each other, but still I rise.
I get kicked out of school, but still I rise.

Find my dad dead and alone in his apartment room, but still I rise.
Alot of bad things have happened in my life, but still I rise.

Real good coming from your heart poem. Perhaps not in this one, but I'd like to see figurative language -- similes, metaphors, personification, and/or hyperbole added. Take a look a Maya Anelou's Still I Rise and you will see what I mean.
